King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA -- June 2, 2014 – Ecolane has elected Fred Gilliam a veteran in the transit industry for over 50 years, as the Company’s Chairman of the Board for its business operations in the United States. Gilliam has been a director on Ecolane’s board since 2012.

“Fred has made countless contributions to both Ecolane’s business as well as the larger transit industry since he began his career,”said Steve Ross, Global CEO of Ecolane. “He has been an essential company director, and his insight and leadership are valuable to our growth and the development of our business.”

Fred Gilliam is a business development advisor to RNL DESIGN and the founder and principal of The Gilliam Group, LLC, a management consulting firm serving the public transportation industry. Fred began his career as a traffic checker for the Memphis Transit Management Company in 1961. Over a period of 11 years with MTM he held progressively more responsible management positions.  During his career he has held management positions in New Orleans, Denver, Tulsa, Memphis (twice) Houston, Chance Coach, and Austin where he retired in 2009.  He has served as President and on the Board of Directors of several state transit associations, advisory committees, and advisory councils. Fred has been recognized for his many accomplishments, most recently with the “Outstanding General Manager Award”by the Texas Transit Association (TTA) in 2004, the “Friend of Texas Award”by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) in 2006, and the “Lifetime Achievement Award”by the TTA in 2010.
